Sun Festival

Sun Festival is a community development and tourism initiative designed to enhance the lifestyles in the Alexander City and Lake Martin areas. It is a 9 day family friendly festival comprised of events and activities with something for everyone.

Sun Festival is the work of many and made a reality by our city and county governments along with numerous sponsors from our business community. We’re grateful for the opportunity to serve this region and realize that without the multitude of people and organizations providing their support, none of this could happen. Join us on Saturday morning in downtown Alex City for Tykes in Trucks. This family-friendly event is free and an opportunity for kids of all ages to explore various trucks and heavy-duty vehicles. Climb inside a firetruck, street sweeper, ambulance, tow trucks and so much more. Enjoy music, kid’s games and visit downtown merchants for food, drinks and treats.

The Bed Race is an event you don’t want to sleep on! Cheer on teams as they race their bed down South Main Street and compete for the Dream Team Award. Who will take on the inaugural top team award?
