Citywide Resource Fair

The Dannon Project and the Birmingham Public Library are excited to announce their continued partnership to provide the Birmingham community with resources for the highest-quality experience of life. The Citywide Resource Fair will take place at downtown’s Central Library from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 2. It is free to the public.

This annual event will offer library patrons and the general public a chance to gather information about resources, services, and opportunities available to them through community-based organizations and businesses. There will be complimentary food and giveaways at the fair, and several lucky guests will receive door prizes and gift baskets.

Home renovation, housing, legal, senior, and transportation assistance are categories that will be addressed at the Citywide Resource Fair. Organizations that deal with domestic violence, early addiction prevention, and substance abuse will also figure among the participants.

Local businesses such as Altec Industries, American Family Care, Honda Manufacturing, Southeast Connections, and several divisions of UAB will be on hand to recruit prospective employees.

Organizations such as Alabama Regional Medical Services, Birmingham Aids Outreach, and Callahan Eye Hospital will administer free health screenings and eye exams. There will be a doctor on site to answer questions about any health issues detected in the screenings.

For anyone interested in registering to vote, the League of Women Voters will complete the process for you. There will be a Mobile Photo ID Unit on site to generate free voter ID cards. Please be sure to bring the necessary documents in order to obtain your free voter ID card.

Need help with your résumé? Coleman & Company will furnish assistance in creating the perfect curriculum vitae.

Last but not least, Community Kitchens and the UAB Mobile Market are slated to prepare complementary lunches and cost-effective snacks for guests.

Please mark this year’s Citywide Resource Fair on your June calendar. We hope to see you there!
