JOB DESCRIPTION
NATURE OF WORK
Fire department serves the public by answering emergency and non-emergency service calls. These can range from Fire / Rescue to Medical in nature. Becoming and working as a Firefighter / EMT is challenging both physically and mentally, but is a dynamic and rewarding career.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
General
Combating, Extinguishing, and Preventing Fires
Responding and transporting the sick or injured patient
Responding to and mitigating Hazardous Materials, Heavy Rescue work, and all Public services calls.
Continuous Training of Job Performance Requirements
General house-keeping duties
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Training and experience equivalent to:
Must be 18 years of age or Older
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Ability to meet minimum physical fitness standards.
Must be able to obtain an Alabama EMT/AEMT License within 12 months of employment
Must be able to obtain Alabama Firefighter I/II Certification within 12 months of employment.
