Job Summary: Assists with GIS mapping, field data collection, data entry, research and other general office tasks. Will also perform as needed scans of filed as-builts and plans, assist in engineering technician tasks. Update, QA/QC, and maintain inventory and work orders in the department’s asset management software (NexGen).
Job Requirements include, but are not limited to the following:
-18 years or older, Valid Alabama Driver’s license.
-Must be currently enrolled in college pursuing a diploma with good academic record. Current students in an engineering or geoscience field preferred.
-Computer proficiency including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint. ESRI ArcMap, and ArcGIS Pro.
-Trimble GPS experience and AutoCAD experience preferred.
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
-Strong mathematical skills.
-Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without accommodation including driving to work sites, operating levers and gears, recurring walking, bending, crouching, stooping, reaching, stretching, and climbing.
-Ability to work non-standard hours, overtime, nights, and weekends if needed, and to travel as necessary, including overnight.
