Athens Parks and Recreations offers a variety of recreational opportunities during the Summer.

The department offers basketball camps, fitness classes, volleyball and softball camps. For those who enjoy walking but not the heat, the Rec Center has an indoor track that is free to the public.

There is also an active pickleball club that meets regularly at the Rec Center.
