City of Auburn - Jennifer Stephens appointed Ward 4 councilperson

AUBURN, Ala.- The Auburn City Council appointed Jennifer Stephens as the new Ward 4 councilperson at its meeting last night, and Stephens’ was sworn in this afternoon in the Auburn Council Chamber.
Stephens will serve the remainder of former Ward 4 Councilperson Brett Smith’s term, which will end on Nov. 7. Councilperson Smith resigned from his position on the council at the end of May.
Stephens has lived in Ward 4 for 28 years and has served as the treasurer of the Rosemary Gate neighborhood homeowner’s association. She has been involved in the Auburn Community Tennis Association, the Junior League of Lee County and has gone through the Leadership Lee County program.
Stephens has worked for Auburn Advancement for 21 years and currently serves as the senior director of finance and operations. She has also been the assistant treasurer for the Auburn Alumni Association.
