Auburn Community Orchestra to perform Holiday Pops concert Tues., Nov. 29

The Auburn Community Orchestra (ACO) will perform their Holiday Pops concert at Auburn United Methodist Church this year. This event will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 29, beginning at 7:30 p.m. ACO will perform classical and seasonal favorites hoping to spread holiday cheer to the Auburn community. Admission is free.

ACO is under the direction of Natalie Smith, a native of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, who is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in music education with certificates in college and university teaching and program evaluation. She is a graduate teaching assistant for the Department of Music at Auburn University. Prior to beginning at Auburn, Smith served as an elementary instrumental teacher for Baltimore County Public Schools. During this time, she also served as the pep band coordinator/director at Mount St. Mary’s University in Maryland, where she built a new band play at their division I basketball games. Smith’s orchestral experience includes performing in the East Carolina University Symphony Orchestra, New Carolina Sinfonia, Trent River Chamber Orchestra, Eastern Symphony Orchestra and substituting in other various orchestras.

ACO partners with the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center to provide orchestral concerts in the community. This event is free to the public. For more information, contact the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center at (334) 501-2963 or visit auburnalabama.org/arts.
