Auburn Public Library announces winter learning challenge, upcoming events

AUBURN, Ala.- The Auburn Public Library invites everyone to a variety of activities throughout November and December. All events are free and open to the public.

Snowflakes & Sweaters Winter Learning Challenge - Dec. 1-Jan. 31
The challenge: Read or listen for at least 1,000 minutes from Dec. 1 through Jan. 31. Register for the challenge by downloading the Beanstack Tracker app to any smartphone or tablet or by visiting auburn.beanstack.org. The challenge is open to all ages!

Those who complete the Winter Learning Challenge by Jan. 31 will earn their choice of a T-shirt or hoodie (while supplies last). Happy Learning!

Lunch-and-Learn: Writer’s Workshop - Friday, Nov. 17, Noon

Do you love to write creatively and are not sure how to turn an idea into a story? Whether you’re an aspiring writer or just like to dabble, pack a lunch and your creativity, and join us for this interactive workshop! Audience: Adults. No registration required.

Family Movie Matinee - Monday, Dec. 11, 3:30 p.m.

Join us for a showing of “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” Rated: PG. The movie is 76 minutes.

Letters to Santa - Wednesday, Dec. 13, 3:30 p.m.

Enjoy refreshments and festive music while writing your wish list to Santa. Your letters will be mailed to Santa at the North Pole with plenty of time for him to reply! Fun and festive stationery and writing supplies will be provided.

Adults Create! Paper Clay Ornaments - Saturday, Dec. 16, 2 p.m.

Create gorgeous, personalized paper clay ornaments. All materials will be provided. Audience: adults. Space is limited, and registration is required.

Reader’s Review Virtual Book Club - Tuesday, Dec. 12, 5:30 p.m.

December’s selection is "Legends and Lattes" by Travis Baldree. Register online for the virtual link.

Please note, the Auburn Public Library will take a program hiatus from Nov. 20-26 and Dec. 18-Jan. 1.
