The 6th annual OSCAR Club Day of Service is scheduled for March 18 and Mayor Cooper is encouraging all residents to participate in the annual event that enhances the city.

“This is an opportunity for you to show your ‘Enterpride’ for our city,” Mayor William E. Cooper said. “Whether it’s your church group, civic club, youth group, business, or just a bunch of neighbors getting together, we want everyone to take time to do something for the betterment of Enterprise.”

The OSCAR Club is made of up Enterprise ‘Women of the Year.’ The annual event encourages groups to embrace a service project like picking up trash on the side of the road, painting, and pressure washing.

“Find an elderly neighbor that could use a little extra help with spring cleaning.  Or, if you’ve noticed a particular area where trash is piling up on the side of the road, clean it up.  Let’s pour into our community and each other on this annual day of service,” Cooper said.

Four large dumpsters will be placed in the lot next to Enterprise City Hall for residents to utilize. Public Works employees will be on site to ensure that only appropriate items are disposed.  Wet paint, tires, roof shingles and food waste will not be accepted.

A kick-off for the OSCAR Club Day of Service will begin at 8 a.m. at Bates Memorial Stadium.
