GROUND DOG DAY: Break out the Bermuda shorts and flip-flops as Huntsville will soon enjoy warmer weather. That is, if you believe Cosmo, the mixed-breed pooch that predicted an early spring at the second annual Ground Dog Day at Huntsville Animal Services. Mayor Battle had the honor of providing "dog treat" options for Cosmo to use his nose and choose between bowls marked "Early Spring" and "More Winter." Thanks to Cosmo for the warm prediction and for his starring role as an adoptable best friend!  > more

REAL TALK WITH HAAR
The Huntsville Area Association of Realtors (HAAR) quizzed Mayor Battle and Madison Mayor Paul Finley about the housing and development market for 2023. Since retail and rooftops follow roads, the realtors were keen to learn about plans for expanding infrastructure. The mayors discussed the spring start date for the Mastin Lake overpass on North Memorial Parkway and plans for Restore Our Roads 2.

BIG 10 MAYORS IN MOBILE
Meeting in the Port City, Mayor Battle and the mayors of Alabama’s 10 most populous cities gathered for their quarterly meeting to discuss issues of mutual interest. The mayors worked to finalize their 2023 legislative agenda and remain focused on issues relating to public safety, creating jobs, and tax incentives for economic growth. The mayors say they value having time together during the Big 10  meetings where they can share information and insights.

WELCOME BACK MAC!
Mayor Battle and newly appointed Madison County Commission Chair Mac McCutcheon wasted no time getting together to discuss local needs and how our tradition of teamwork and cooperative leadership makes an impact. As former House Speaker and past employee of the Huntsville Police Department, McCutcheon knows issues that are important to Huntsville and how to get things done in Montgomery. The City is happy to have Mac back home and on the leadership team for the Madison County Commission.
