RESPECT OUR WATERWAYS

As a reminder during the Red Snapper fishing season, do not discard fish carcasses in our waterways. It is illegal and continues to be a problem. For all boaters, please dispose of unwanted bait and gutted fish well offshore, not at a marina or in inland waterways. If fish are gutted on land, double bag the fish waste and properly dispose of the bag in a covered trash can. Please keep our waterways clean!

Red Snapper season for private anglers started on Friday, May 27th. The season will consist of four-day weekends, Friday through Monday, and will continue until the private angler quota is projected to be met. June 1st was the first day of red snapper season for Alabama charter (for-hire) boats with federal reef fish permits. It will be an 79-day season for 2022 running to August 19, 2022, at 12:01 a.m. local time.
