Happy Labor Day!

All City of Vestavia Hills municipal offices will be CLOSED Monday, September 5 in observance of Labor Day.

ALSO CLOSED:
Vestavia Hills Library in the Forest (closed September 4 & 5)

Vestavia Hills Board of Education & school offices
Vestavia Hills Chamber of Commerce
Amwaste – All routes will run on a one-day delay for the remainder of the week

Are you ready for Shred & Recycle Day? Don't miss this last collection event of the year!

This year's Vestavia Hills Chamber of Commerce Helping Hands in the Hills Recycle Day drop-off will be in the parking lot at the new Vestavia Hills Civic Center. Items will be collected from 8am to noon (or until capacity is reached) on Saturday, September 10.

Items available to be collected include electronics and household hazardous waste. (Proof of Vestavia Hills residency is required for hazardous waste disposal.) Paper shredding services will also be available and Vestavia Hills police officers will be on-site to collect unneeded or expired medications for disposal. (Needles will NOT be accepted.)

9/11 Remembrance Ceremony & Patriot Day Celebration

All are invited to attend this event commemorating the lives of those who died in the 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, and those who perished on United Airlines Flight 93. This year's event will be at Vestavia Hills City Hall and will begin at 8:30am on Sunday, September 11.

Help the Vestavia Hills Library Foundation “Write the Next Chapter” in the library’s history! The Library Foundation is hosting an online fundraising campaign September 19-24, 2022 to bolster the library’s resources and further important community programming. The Foundation invites you to donate any amount to support our beloved Library in the Forest. September is National Preparedness Month!

A disaster or emergency can happen at any time. To be better prepared in the event of a disaster or emergency , be sure to follow Jefferson County Emergency Management Agency on social media for daily low to no cost preparedness ideas, tips and tricks.

Domestic Violence Awareness Forum

The public is invited to attend this FREE Domestic Violence Awareness Forum, “Protecting our Teens and Young Adults from Dating Violence," hosted by the mayors of Vestavia Hills, Homewood, Hoover and Mountain Brook. The event will be held at the Vestavia Hills Civic Center on October 16 at 6pm. Click here for more information.
