Upcoming Storytimes

Itsy Bitsy Baby

Saturday, January 6, from 10:30-11 a.m. in the Round Auditorium

(0-18 Months) Babies and caregivers are welcome to a lapsit storytime with Miss Cristina filled early literacy tips, baby-friendly songs, and puppets.

Night Owl Storytime

Monday, January 8, from 6-6:30 p.m. in the Round Auditorium

(All Ages) Wind down your kiddos before bedtime with an interactive and cozy storytime with our amazing friends from the Alabama Institute of Blind and Deaf, who will be teaching us basic ASL throughout each story.

Wee Ones

Tuesdays, January 9-30, from 10-10:30 a.m. in the Round Auditorium

(Preschool) Lots of dancing and singing will be had with Miss Mary’s storytime perfect for energetic toddlers.

PJ Storytime

Tuesdays, January 9-30, from 6-6:30 p.m. in the Round Auditorium

(All Ages) Stop by the library wearing your pajamas before hittin’ the hay for some stories and songs perfect before bedtime with Miss Lauren.

Storypalooza

Wednesdays, January 10-31, from 10-10:30 a.m. in the Round Auditorium

(Preschool) Join us for a good ol’ time with Miss Aaliyah’s energizing storytime to get everyone ready for the day.

Stay and Play

Thursdays, January 11-18, from 10-10:30 a.m. in the Round Auditorium

(Preschool) Fire up your imagination and tinker around with friends for some Loose Parts Play after Miss Erika’s fun-filled storytime!

Pre-K Play

Friday, January 12, from 9:30-11 a.m. in the Round Auditorium

(Preschool) Head on over to the library for an exciting morning of tumbling and jumping in our makeshift play gym.

Cozy Tales

Saturday, January 13, from 10:30-11 a.m. in the Round Auditorium

(All Ages) Start your weekend off on a cozy note and join us for stories and songs in a playful storytime with Miss Gabby!

Storywiggles

Monday, January 22, from 9-9:30 a.m. at the West Homewood Senior Center

(Preschool) Start off your week with an off-site storytime with Miss Gabby at the West Homewood Senior Center one Monday a month where she will be telling entertaining stories with tunes perfectly paired with shakey eggs and/or scarves.

Book Babies

Saturday, January 27, from 10:30-11 a.m. in the Children’s Department

(0-18 Months) Encourage singing, playing, and socializing with your baby in this intimate storytime with Miss Mary.

Kids’ Advisory Board (KAB)

Tuesday, January 9, from 4:30-5:30 p.m. in Room 109

(3rd-5th Grade) Join the Kids’ Advisory Board to hang out with other tweens at the library for new activities every month! New members welcome! Application required to be a KAB member at homewoodpubliclibrary.org.

Barks and Books

(K-5th Grade) Spend an afternoon with our friends from the Greater Birmingham Humane Society by reading (or just simply hanging out) with some friendly pups!

American Sign Language for Kids

(K-5th Grade) Learn basic American Sign Language with our friends from the Alabama Institute of Blind and Deaf, which includes fun games and activities perfect for all ages.

(All Ages) If you enjoy baking and making scrumptious creations, join us for this fun Zoom program! Families will pick up their baking kits at the children’s desk in preparation for the event (baking kits may include items containing gluten, dairy, nut and egg products). Teen Crochet Circle

(4th-12th Grade) Tweens and teens, welcome to crochet circle! This is a monthly event where we will sit our chairs in circles, and crochet together. Experienced masters and complete newbies both are both welcome.
