Not Your Mama’s Book Club - Author & Past Life Hypnotherapist Lee Mitchell

No book reading required, discussion group only. Lee Mitchell is a Certified Past Life Regression Therapist. Lee has authored four books about her clients regressions which allows the reader to fully see the many varied uses of past life regression therapy. She includes chapters on parallel lives, lives as light beings from other planets, sessions of future lives, and as well as panic attacks and nightmares. In addition to past life regression sessions, she uses astrology natal charts, and psychic tarot card readings to confirm the soul’s path for the clients in the book. These three modalities help solidify the clients quest for understanding their higher self’s plan for their present life.

During World War ll, American expatriate (Humphrey Bogart) helps transport a French Resistance leader and his beautiful wife while romancing a sensuous lounge singer (Lauren Bacall). Bogart and Bacall fell in love during production. The director Howard Hawks afterward said this it was actually Bacall’s character, Slim, that Bogart had fallen for, “so she had to keep playing it the rest of her life.”

Join us for an hour long adult “storytime” of classic short stories with Sid Burgess. This is Black History Month and our stories come from two outstanding African-American writers, both women. The first is by Alabama native (Notasulga. 1891) Zora Neal Hurston, whom Alice Walker describes as a “genius of the South.” The second is from the pen of Maya Angelou, memoirist, popular poet, and civil rights activist.

Valentines Dinner Theatre - Elvis People

South City Theatre presents Elvis People by Doug Grissom. With the iconic mythology of Elvis as a backdrop, Elvis People is a funny and touching journey through the decades that examines the King's impact on American culture through the eyes of the disparate people he affected throughout and beyond his life. Elvis, as a character, does not appear in the play, but his spirit infuses the play as it explores the profound impact that Elvis has had on millions of people and on the culture of America. There will be a buffet starting at 6:30 p.m., and the show follows, starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $45 for the buffet and show. Tickets must be purchased in advance, and will be available beginning Monday, January 9.
