Read It & Eat Book Club – Remarkably Bright Creatures

Homewood Library Ghost Tours with S.C.A.R.E.

Friday & Saturday, March 3 & 4, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. in Large Auditorium

Join authors and paranormal investigators Kim Johnston and Shane Busby for this rare opportunity to participate in a night time investigation of the haunted Homewood Library. S.C.A.R.E. will bring their team of investigators, as well as their specialized equipment, to conduct a real paranormal investigation with their guests. Guests are encouraged to bring voice recorders, cameras, and flashlights. Ages 12 and up. All minors must be accompanied by an adult. Space is limited to ensure all in attendance will be in on the action. Guests will receive an email with a waiver and further instructions at least 1 week prior to the event. Experiencing Dyslexia

Not Your Mama's Book Club – Sound Healing/Meditation

Tuesday, March 7, from 2-3:30 p.m. in Round Auditorium

No book reading required, discussion group only. Join Sunny Kirkland for an expose on the healing power of sound. She will be sharing sound healing fundamentals and the sounds that are integral parts of coconsciousness. You will learn how sound influences our brainwaves and bio-electric rhythms to bring about states of healing and harmony. You will experience first-hand how sacred sound soothes the nervous system and brings about higher awareness with a guided meditation and sound bath. To maximize your comfort and experience, it is recommended to bring a yoga mat, 1-2 pillows or 1 pillow and a booster, and a blanket to receive the sound bath. If you would prefer chair, one will be provided.

Practice Dance Sessions for the Jane Austen Regency Ball

The Jane Austen Society of North America-Alabama Region will be holding a Jane Austen Regency Ball on April 1, 2023. No prior ballroom experience is necessary and novices are welcome. There will also be practice sessions for those who wish to learn some of the dances prior to the Ball. Attendance of the practice session is not a requisite to attend and/or dance at the Ball. A "caller" will provide instructions for the dances at the practice sessions as well as at the Ball.
