Teen Poetry Contest

Friday, April 1 – Sunday, April 30

In honor of National Poetry Month, the Homewood Public Library is holding a poetry contest for 6th-12th graders. Create an original poem (maximum 2 pages in length) in any poetry style. Teens can submit up to two original poems. Poems can be submitted via the library’s website at www.homewoodpubliclibrary.org/poetry-contest. If submitting two poems, please submit each poem separately. Our judges will read each poem and determine 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place winners. Winners will be announced in May.

Teen Dungeons & Dragons

Sunday, April 2 & 16 & 30, 3-5 p.m. in Room 102

(6th-12th Grade) Love D&D? Join the Teen Department and play this classic tabletop RPG with other teens. All levels are welcome. Register for each session online at www.homewoodpubliclibrary.org.

Magic: the Gathering for Teens

Tuesday, April 4 & 25, 4:30-6:30 p.m. in Room 101

(6th-12th Grade) Interested in learning about Magic: the Gathering? Each game represents a battle between wizards known as “planeswalkers”, who employ spells, artifacts, and creatures depicted on individual Magic cards to defeat their opponents. We will have decks, but you are welcome to bring your own. Register online at www.homewoodpubliclibrary.org.

Teen Theatre Thursdays

Wednesday, April 5, 4-5 p.m. in Room 116 (rescheduled)

Thursday, April 6 & 20, 4-5 p.m. in Room 116

(6th-12th Grade) This bi-monthly program will focus on teaching the performing arts to aspiring teen thespians with assistance from the Red Mountain Theatre. Register online at www.homewoodpubliclibrary.org.

Teen Advisory Board (TAB)

Thursday, April 6, 6-7 p.m. in the Large Auditorium

(6th-12th Grade) The Teen Advisory Board is a volunteer group of 6th-12th graders who are dedicated to serving the Homewood Public Library.
