Teen Theatre Thursdays

Thursday, November 2 & 16, from 4-5 p.m. in Room 116

Character Design 101

(6th-12th Grade) Kane Bourgeois is here to teach you the ins and outs of drawing characters! Learn the basics of character design, color theory, and more. Book Vs. Movie Club: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone

(6th-12th Grade) Books are turned into movies all the time. It's a common thing to say the book is always going to be better than that movie, but why don't we test that concept! Join us for Book Vs. Movie club: a club for teens to watch a movie then read the book and have a book club discussion about the differences, similarities, and anything else that comes up! Magic: The Gathering for Teens

Thursday, November 9, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in Room 102

(6th-12th Grade) Interested in learning about Magic: The Gathering? Each game represents a battle between wizards known as “planeswalkers”, who employ spells, artifacts, and creatures depicted on individual Magic cards to defeat their opponents. Sustainable Fashion Workshop and Runway Show

Monday, November 13, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in Room 109

(6th-12th Grade) Sustainability in fashion is an increasingly important topic. Bring in an item or two of clothing you do not wear anymore, and we will show you how to rework those items into something new. Some spare items will be provided, but we recommend bringing at least one piece. After we work on our items, there will be a small runway to show off the work. Sewing basics will be provided. Telescope Take Out Day

Tuesday, November 14, from 7:30-8:30 p.m. in Library back parking lot

Grow Your Own Microgreens

Monday, November 20, from 1-2 p.m. in Room 109.

(6th-12th Grade) Learn how to grow your own micro-greens indoors in this class from the master gardeners of the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. These plants are delicious, nutritious, and can be grown indoors and in small spaces! All supplies provided. Register online at homewoodpubliclibrary.org.

Tweens Craft On!

Tuesday, November 21, from 4-5 p.m. in Room 110
