Jefferson County Library Cooperative : Be A Part Of The Story

From: Jefferson County Library Cooperative

We all have a story.

Our story began in the 1924 when the Jefferson County Free Library book mobile began delivering books to readers and book deposit stations throughout the county. In 1978, seventeen libraries brought their stories together to form what would become the Public Libraries in Jefferson County.  Today, 40 libraries across 22 municipalities contribute to the story in order to

Honor "one county, one card" so that citizens of Jefferson County need only one library card to access all that the county cooperative has to offer.

- Share materials (books, DVDs, audio-books, and more) with library users all over the county.
- Support a van delivery system and staff that carry those materials to each library every weekday.
- Share IT infrastructure and staff to ensure all libraries can provide high quality computer resources and technologies to the public.
- Share one library catalog so that library users may easily see what is available in our system.
- Provide access to premium online resources like the Libby eBook collection and other databases.

We're asking you to be a part of the story.
Your support helps sustain all of these services.
