NEVER FORGET:  Korean War Veterans Mario Ventura, Clyde Roston and Sam Bertling joined Mayor Battle and John Choung for a ribbon-cutting today to formally dedicate the Korean War Veterans Memorial Bridge on Old Madison Pike. A salute to our veterans who bravely served our country!

TRACKING THE TIF 

One of Huntsville's successful economic development tools is the Tax Increment Financing (TIF) district. The City has judiciously used this tool to support public infrastructure, and commercial and industrial development. Finance Director Penny Smith keeps an eye on TIF performance and progress. more 

BEHIND THE BADGE 

If you've ever wondered what it's like to be a Huntsville police officer, HPD's Ride-Along program offers an inside look. City Blog joined West Precinct Officer Michael Tucker on patrol to witness his daily encounters behind the badge.  more 

REDSTONE SALUTE 

Huntsville is proud to honor our military and Redstone personnel during Armed Forces Week, June 27-30. The week kicks off with a Mayoral proclamation on Monday morning followed by a free evening concert and fireworks in Big Spring Park. On Tuesday, the public is invited to attend a free Community Softball Game at Toyota Field where Mayor Battle and community leaders play Team Redstone at 6 p.m. On Thursday, from 1 - 3 p.m., military job seekers are invited to meet, network and interview with Huntsville-area companies at the Hiring Our Heroes Virtual Hiring Fair.
