AlaBenton Summer Workshop - In Your Genes - DNA and Your Family Tree, August 6th at 12:00 PM
Join the AlaBenton Genealogical Society as they present a very special three class event.  Learn all about DNA, Gedmatch, Ethnicities and receive help with your DNA Questions.  These three classes will be taught by Lisa Morton Mills, CG.  All proceeds from this event will be donated back to the Public Library of Anniston-Calhoun County for the Alabama Room and it's future resources.  $25.00 in advance, $30.00 at the door.  Please make checks payable to: AlaBenton Summer Workshop, c/o Alabama Room, Anniston Public Library.

American Red Cross Blood Drive, August 12th from 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM

Dolores Hydock Presents: Literary Treason - The Writing of Bess Streeter AldrichAugust 16th at 2:00 PM
This program looks at the life and work of Bess Streeter Aldrich, a Nebraska writer of the 1930's who accomplished what few others did:  While she raised her family as a single mother, she had a successful, self supporting career as a female writer during the first half of the 20th century.  Earns 3 punches.

Estate Sale! - August 25, 26, 27th (see times below)

Join us at the Library for a very special event. We will be hosting a large estate sale, with so many different items to browse!  Furniture, vintage glassware, vintage decor, antique pieces, and more!

A preview sale will be open to members of The Friends of the Library a day before the official public sale starts, so make sure to renew your memberships or join today!

D&D Day at the Library, August 13th at 1:00 PM
Join us for D&D here at the Library!  Bring your character sheet, make some new friends and enjoy some pizza.  If you are bringing your own character, we request that you scale your character back to the appropriate level so that all may play together (we are currently level 2-3).     

Anime Club : Bungo Stray Dogs, August 11th at 4 PM
Come to the Ayers Room to watch a new anime title and enjoy Japanese snacks and prizes every month!  This month we will be watching Bungo Stray Dogs.  

Beat Saber Tournament, August 18th at 3 PM

Homeschooler Computer Class,  August 5th at 11:00 AM
Stop by the Carver Branch Library for Homeschoolers Computer Class!  Learn things such as creating spreadsheets, resumes, basic coding and beginners graphic design.

Learn about famous artists, movements, styles and mediums and then create works of art yourself! Ages 13+

Game Night, (Postponed until September 22nd)
Virtual Reality, (VR users must be 13+), board games, card games, party games! You name it; we'll be playing it. Bring your friends or make some new ones!

Come build with LEGO bricks in the Children's Department!

Sensory Storytime, Tuesdays at 10 AM
Come back to the library and join us for Storytime every Tuesday at 10 am in the Ayer's Room! This will be a socially distanced story time with a craft. A recording of the story will be made available on Facebook.

Pick-Up Craft, Weekly in August
Each week a new craft will be available. You can pick up a kit in the Children's Department.

Join Award winning children's Author Heather Montgomery for a special presentation about nature, exploring, and all things GROSS...but fascinating!

Back to Hogwarts, August 19th at 4 PM
Come join us at the Library as we get ready to go back to Hogwarts!  There will be so many activities for young witches and wizards to do.  Try out for Quidditch, visit the Herbology greenhouse, attend a hands-on Potions class, adopt a Pygmy Puff and more!  So hop on your Nimbus and come join in the wizarding fun.
