Adult Services

Sherry Blanton Presents : "I Have a Pot Problem", July 5th at 2:00 PM
Do you, or someone you know have a "Pot Problem"? Are you obsessed over the containers as much as you are the plants that occupy them?  Then come join us on July 5th at 2:00 PM for Sherry Blanton's program, "I Have a Pot Problem". Where the Passionate Planter discusses container gardening and her love for decorative pots (even as much as the plants themselves!)  Stay for the end, where you may have a chance to win your own pot to take home!

Discovering the Library of Things, July 6th at 2:00 PM
Join us in the Ayers Room as we learn all about the Library of Things and how to utilize all of the resources the Library has to offer.

American Red Cross Blood Drive, July 6th from 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Join the Public Library of Anniston-Calhoun County for a blood drive!  Give the gift of life and help your community.  Donors will receive a recycled cotton tote bag (while supplies last)

Justice Not Favor : Understanding Women's Suffrage in Alabama, July 19th at 2:00 PM
In this presentation, Dr. Alex Colvin will examine the complex story of how Alabama women fought for (and in some cases, against) obtaining the right to vote.  In a battle that spanned almost a century, these women used various tactics - from petitions to marches to baseball games - to gain momentum for their cause.

All ages and skill levels welcome.  Ayers Room

Library Closures 
We will be closed July 4th.   Even while the Library is closed, you can still check out books, magazines and periodicals via Camellia Net.

Coffee House Book Chat, July 28th at 3:00pm
We will be discussing Where it Hurts by Reed Farrel Coleman. Books may be checked out or purchased at the front desk, or downloaded for free from Camellia Net.

YA Summer Reading Program

Anime Club : Fushigi Yugi, July 14th at 4 PM
Come to the Ayers Room to watch a new anime title and enjoy Japanese snacks and prizes every month!  This month we will be watching Fushigi Yugi.  

Teen Blacklight Glow Party, July 21st at 6 PM
Teens!  Come enjoy glow sticks, glow paint, glowing food, music & more!  

Teen Take & Make Crafts, All July
This months take & make crafts will be Sea Creature Lantern Jars and Edible Aquariums

Virtual Reality Wednesdays, Every Wednesday
Every Wednesday during the Summer we will have the HTC Vibe out in the teen area.  Ages 13+, Parental consent form must be signed before play.

Teen Friday Flicks at 3 PM, Every Friday in July

Game Night, July 28th at 6:00pm
Virtual Reality, (VR users must be 13+), board games, card games, party games! You name it; we'll be playing it. Bring your friends or make some new ones!

Children's Services

Lego League, July 13th & 27th at 3:30 PM
Come build with LEGO bricks in the Children's Department!

Storytime, Tuesdays at 10 am.
Come back to the library and join us for Storytime every Tuesday at 10 am in the Ayer's Room! This will be a socially distanced story time with a craft. A recording of the story will be made available on Facebook.

Pick-Up Craft
Each week a new craft will be available. You can pick up a kit in the Children's Department.

Kids Friday Movie Matinee, Every Friday at 12 PM
