Childrens Department

Warm up with a hot drink and some fun board games to help you enjoy your last day of Winter Break! Drop by the library auditorium to try out a new game or enjoy playing a familiar favorite with your family and friends. This program is open to all ages! No registration is required.
Wednesday, January 17th & 31st
10:00 am | LBK Library Auditorium
Are you looking for a place where your child can learn through play and interact with others? Join us twice a month for this fun program! We will begin with a short read-aloud and movement time at 10:00 am, followed by free play at toy and activity stations around the auditorium. Open to Preschool ages and their caregiver. No registration is required.

Teen Department
Tuesday, January 23rd
4:30 - 6:30 pm | Cahaba Meeting Room
NEW teen program for the new year! Learn the highly strategic card game Magic The Gathering during this beginner class. During the game, players will take turns battling one another by casting spells, summoning creatures, and using artifacts depicted on individual cards drawn from their personalized decks. All supplies will be provided! This program is open to 6th through 12th graders.

LBK Library Auditorium
The library will be hosting a two-part ACT Prep class next month. The class will be conducted in person in the library auditorium. Saturday will be an extensive review session with lunch provided. Sunday will feature a practice test. Students will need to bring a notebook, pencil, and calculator.
The fee for BOTH days of the class is $43.50.

Enjoy watching classic movies on the library auditorium's big screen! We'll show a movie released before 1970 on the third Friday of every month. Grab some popcorn and celebrate the Golden Age of Hollywood! This month's movie is "It Happened One Night".

Adulting 101: Basics of Sewing Class

5:30 - 7:30 pm | Parkway Meeting Room
Do you feel like you missed learning some basic "adulting" life skills? Starting in January, we will offer a monthly adulting series beginning with Basics of Sewing. You'll get a sewing kit tour, threading and tying the needle, and learn basic stitches. Space is limited. Registration is required.
