Happening this month at the Library!

November Holiday Closures

The Trussville Public Library will be closed Friday, November 11th in observance of Veterans Day. The library will resume all services on Saturday, November 12th at 10:00 am

The library will close at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, November 23rd, and will remain closed through Sunday, November 27th in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. The library will resume all services on Monday, November 28th at 9:00 am.

All due dates for library materials will be automatically adjusted for these holiday closures.

Preschoolers at Play

Wednesday, Nov. 16th  |  10:30 am

Join Ms. Alicia for a playtime program for preschool-aged children. The program will begin with a guided sensory time, followed by free play time at several stations set up around the large auditorium with various toys. Each month we will briefly highlight a special activity at one of the stations to help your child prepare for reading and school readiness. Best for Preschool Ages (2 - 5 years old).

Middle Grade Book Club

Thursday, November 17th |  5:00 pm

Read or listen to "Song for a Whale" by Lynne Kelly before the book club. Then join us for a special program as we discuss the book, learn some basic sign language from a special guest, and make a themed craft. A light snack will also be provided.

This program is best for 3rd - 6th grade students. Registration is Required.

Life Skills: Basic Sewing Class

Tuesday, Nov. 15th |  6:00 pm

We are more than halfway through our Life Skills series for high schoolers. Due to inclement weather, the Basic Sewing class had to be rescheduled and there is still space for participants to register for this date! The program will cover all the basic sewing skills, and all supplies will be provided. Open to 6th - 12th grades.

Tuesday, Nov. 29th |  4:00 pm

Are you a card game, board game, or tabletop game enthusiast? This is the club for you! Various card games and board games will be available to play and discuss or bring games from home. Snacks and refreshments are provided. Open to 6th - 12th grades.

Journey to the Great Temple of Travel

Sunday, Nov. 13th |  2:00 pm

During this program, co-hosted by the Trussville Historical Society, Author Marvin Clemons will share his extensive knowledge of Birmingham's Terminal Station and sign copies of his book, “Great Temple of Travel: A Pictorial History of Birmingham Terminal Station.” Copies of the book will be available for purchase. Light refreshments will be served.

Special Presentation with the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency

Thursday, Nov. 17th |  5:30pm

Join us with Ashley M. Wright from the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency for a look at all that they do to find and identify our missing heroes. The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency is responsible for the fullest possible accounting of missing Americans from past conflicts.
