I've lived in the River Region for going on 6 years, but I am from Gulf Shores. As a matter of fact, my family owned a seafood restaurant in GS for over 30 years. With that being said, I rarely eat seafood this far north. Capitol Oyster Bar is one of the few exceptions. Go there knowing that its not cheap, but its less expensive than driving down to the beach. Get the Argentina Shrimp, its going to cost you $25/lb, so order 2 lbs. These little devils are the closest thing to lobster that I have ever come across. Its literally the best thing on the entire menu, and that's saying something! There is usually great beer on tap, and the nightly specials are always worth considering. If you see a gentlemen in his late 40's shucking (fresh) oysters, tell him that you enjoyed your meal, and he will appreciate it because he owns the joint.

Atmosphere is great love the jazzy blues music! We had oysters and some great onion rings yummy. Looking out at the river was great. It's a bumpy ride there but it's worth it!!! Don't miss it!!! 💝💝💝

The “Broiled Grouper” and “Steamed Crab Claws,” were both excellent. The sides that accompanied the dishes were ice cold. Ok for the Cole slaw, but not for the French fries, drawn butter, and hush puppies. The server was less than attentive. $60 is way to much to pay for a meal for two with cold fries and hush puppies. Kinda ruins the rest of the meal. May or may not give them another chance to redeem themselves. Don’t hold your breath.

Great location. nice back porch where you can go out and look at boats while you wait. problem is I was out in that heat for over an hour, then waited on my food for over an hour. Eventually we requested the food be brought out in a takeout box along with the check. after another thirty minutes or so that didn't seem to have helped so we had to go eat somewhere else. by then it was after 9 at night.

Came in on Saturday around 530pm. My daughter Kelley had been here before and suggested it. Had to wait about 10 minutes. Hostess was very nice and even took our drink order after she sat us. By then the restaurant was very packed. Our server Michelle was Awesome. She has a great personality and kept checking on us . The food was great. Will certainly come back. From Mobile, the Seafood Capital and Roll Tide Country!! 5 STARS
