The Gadsden Museum of Art is a pretty smart place. They primarily focus on rotating collections of local artists. This both keeps admission free and means the museum doesn't feel the need to 'compete' with other art museums. They've a very small permanent collection, which is about a quarter of it's space. Much of that is decorative. You won't find European art here. There is no abstract expressionism. In stead there's a laser like focus on using the best local artists to bring anthropological insight into the community.

Smaller art museum tucked away in Downtown Gadsden. FREE admission, constantly changing exhibits, and small gift shop. Stop by and check it out. They have recently added a Children's Gallery. Nice!

A little taste of history that showcases up and coming artists who then can rise up in the art world. The staff is there for any questions and glad to help. The location is perfect! In the heart of downtown Gadsden there is dining, shopping and more!
