About Us:-

Today, the MBUSI plant has buildings with more than 4 million square feet located on 1,000 acres. Besides Body, Paint, and Assembly shops, also located on the Tuscaloosa site are a comprehensive training facility, a visitor center and a childcare and wellness center. The Mercedes-Benz Visitor Center, which houses entertaining exhibits detailing the history of Mercedes-Benz -- including its products, technology and commitment to safety -- is open to the public. Since opening in mid-1997, over 230,000 people have toured the visitor center and plant.

The Tuscaloosa plant currently represents a $2 billion(+) investment for its parent company, Daimler AG.  MBUSI currently employs about 2,800 Team Members and the plant in 2012 produced approximately 182,000 vehicles, which are exported to more than 135 countries.

MBUSI, based in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, has built more than 1.5 million (and counting) world-class Mercedes-Benz vehicles and is nearly into the third chapter of its life, creating new products and further expanding its impact on Tuscaloosa and Alabama.

Past meets future in the museum displays at the visitor center. Very interesting details about the construction of Mercedes cars. Very attractive offerings in the gift shop too. Tours of the manufacturing facilities must be booked in advance and they are well worth the effort.

Fun place to stop by if you’re driving through. Wish they would make tours a regular thing. I called almost a month in advance to add just myself to a tour. “Sorry full”. The visitors center is pretty nice. They have about a dozen cars to see. Small gift shop is very overpriced but what do you expect from Mercedes.

Excellent museum to go and visit as it offers extensive history on all models of the Mercedes Benz and even a glance into what to expect in the future. The factory had and excellent interior design with restroom and looking the the older car models was very exciting. And looking at some new cars really got me in the mood to drive.

Awesome place to visit if you've never been, or even if you have. Cars inside change from time to time so it's not always the same. They offer plant tours, and have multiple gift shops. And even have the new electric car which looks like something from the future. Definitely a must see!!!
