History :

Two employees of the Auburn Parks & Recreation Department founded Auburn CityFest, Auburn's largest, FREE, outdoor festival in 2000 while discussing the idea over lunch at Auburn's famous Niffer's Place. Since the festival made its debut six years ago, it has turned the last Saturday in April into a fabulous family day of fun at beautiful Kiesel Park.

Since its beginnings, the one-day extravaganza has continued to be a tremendous success each year. The numbers of attendees and vendors from around the Southeast have continued to double and even triple this past year. More than 40,000 festival-goers and 110 vendors attended last year's festival. The encouragement of the Auburn community, the tickled kids, and delighted shoppers, make coordinating the FREE festival a fun task.

The arts & crafts festival is not only known for the spectacular artists and exhibitors. It is also known for delicious food, family oriented entertainment, and a variety of interactive activities for the entire family to enjoy. Who can forget the memorable sounds of CityFest? The laughter, music and good ole family fun make Auburn CityFest a great day in the park.

In year's past, a variety of activities were offered, including a National Guard Rock Climbing Wall, more than 15 inflatables for kids of all ages, the Auburn Fire Department Smoke House, a Children's Art Exhibition, Meet and Greet with the Auburn University SEC Sports Teams, the Story Maker, Gamma Phi Beta Carnival, Cartoon Network Characters, Martial Arts Show, the Charter Communications Trailer, and much, much more!!
